Elegy for the Forlorn
The images I photograph in this series are of forgotten, neglected or discarded places. Places which once had purpose, but now are only faint shadows of what they once were. I scout out locations where abandoned structures dominate the landscape, where there are just remnants of a long gone community, bits and pieces of disintegrating structures. I feel a longing standing at these sites, a sadness and yet, a comfort in remembering earlier times. This is especially true during the turmoil of our politically troubled times.
